Hello there! Welcome to Asil Rashid Art. I'm Asil, a single mom, and self-taught artist based in Montreal, Canada. A few years ago, as a way to deal with my post-partum depression after having my daughter, I decided to pick up a paint brush and start painting. And I haven’t stopped since. My art covers a diversity of subject matter but mostly it depicts my love for the natural world, in various landscapes, seascapes, florals and of course, still life. All original artwork (acrylic, watercolor and oil paintings) is available in my shop.

Other than colorful, beautiful artwork, in this blog you will also find my reflections on art and the creative process, motherhood, bits and bobs about other creative endeavors, and a smattering of my poetry.
