Day 51: "Bambolini", watercolor and ink on mixed media paper, 8.5x5.5". I made Bambolini, Italian style donuts filled with cream, on the first day of Ramadan. It was a time consuming recipe but worth it. I used watercolors for the main layers, and then pen and white ink for the details.

This is part of my 2026 year long project, called "This sweet simple existence." During this year of living creatively, I will create small artworks everyday based around objects from my daily life, (mostly food, household items, perhaps the view from my window etc). thereby simply documenting the extraordinary in the ordinary joys of a simple life.
