This is part of the Garden Blooms set of paintings. This white magnolia flower was painted with acrylic paint with the green leaves painted with water-soluble pastels on a very dark, almost black background. The focus was on portraying the lilac shadows against the bright white highlights. This would make a perfect gift for Christmas and would be a lovely addition to a hallway, living room, bedroom or nursery, especially when paired with the other painting in the set, Magnolia Study II.
