Day 127/365: "Tulip Season" Print
Day 127/365: "Tulip Season" Print.
My sketchbook is a safe space for me where I get to experiment and make mistakes. This was the idea behind May’s paintings; to prioritize looseness and speed over perfection or a finished look. Therefore, as May’s paintings were created on non-detachable watercolor sketchbook paper, the originals are obviously not available for purchase. However, they will be offered as mini prints in one size only, 5×7”. This painting was created using gouache on watercolor paper, original size 8.5×5.5”. A few years ago I attempted to grow tulips from bulbs. I planted the bulbs in a deep pot in soil during the fall and left the pot out in my balcony during the winter. However, it turned out to be a very wet winter and come spring, the bulbs were very mushy from moisture damage. It’s spring again here when I usually start planting seeds. This painting is for the tulips I could never grow, at least not on my balcony. But perhaps one day in my own garden.
This is part of my year long project, "This sweet simple existence". During this year of living creatively, I will create small artworks everyday based around objects from my daily life, (mostly food, household items, perhaps the view from my window etc). thereby simply documenting the extraordinary in the ordinary joys of a simple life.
The print will be signed and numbered according to the day it was created (e.g., 1/365, 2/365, etc.)
It will be printed on premium quality, archival grade, acid free, thick, textured paper.
The print will be 5×7” unframed and borderless. All sizes are in inches.
For international orders: buyer is responsible for any additional taxes, tariffs, and customs fees upon import.
All orders are printed on demand. Your order will be shipped within 7-9 business days!
