Day 72/365: "Moka Pot" Print

from $30.00

Day 72/365: "Moka Pot" Print.

Each print is a high quality reproduction of an original artwork that is part of my 2026 year long project, "This Sweet Simple Existence", where I create daily small artworks of objects and scenes around me, thereby simply documenting the extraordinary in the ordinary joys of a simple life.

The original was created with wax pastels and gouache on cold pressed, heavy weight, watercolor paper. This moka pot holds a lot of memories for me. I don't use it as much anymore, because I have a coffee machine. But every time I look at it, I'm reminded of the years I spent in Dubai when I was living with my mother and we were both working full time jobs. Our weekend morning routine would be to make some breakfast, and cappuccino with this moka pot and milk frother and sit at our kitchen table and talk for hours. As the world grows more and more uncertain, I’m often reminded of one the happier and simpler times in my life by the sight of one unassuming moka pot.
